Spectrik Welcomes VTEC as a Shareholder: Strengthening Confidence in the Photonic Sensor for Gasses

Eindhoven, 18 March 2025 – Spectrik is taking new steps in the further development of the photonic gas sensors for the  agricultural sector, thanks to the partnership with VTEC Lasers and Sensors. This strategic partnership is the proof of trust in the supply chain partners and the confidence that the gas sensor for the livestock sector has the potential to positively impact the agricultural sector and beyond. With VTEC becoming a shareholder in Spectrik, it also shows confidence in each other that the gas sensor for the livestock sector is only the beginning.


VTEC brings years of expertise in both product development as well as laser and sensor technology, thereby supporting Spectrik to accelerate the development and scaling of advanced solutions  in this technology area for the agriculture industry, and beyond. As  CEO Jan Mink states: “We are thrilled to become even more involved inthe excellent progress of Spectrik of converting the ammonia gas sensor technology into applications that the world and especially the Netherlands is waiting for.”

The next step? Preparing the commercial pilots to startfield tests at large scale, with prototypes  designed for high volume production. The collaboration between Spectrik and VTEC is a milestone in the increased trust in integrated photonics, with both companies dedicated to creating meaningful technological advancements that address societal challenges.
